Lookit! I'm updating the blog! Whaddayaknow. I still love fall so much and was sad to change the background on my blog. Alas, all good things must come to an end. Or at least a pause, since thankfully fall is not forever gone but only on hold til next year. :)
So there was Christmas. And it was lovely. I asked only for a gym membership, since last summer's three-month freebie gave me a bug. And we gave the girls a huge gift...a puppy. Sigh...yes! I did it. After much thought and deliberation and searching, we finally gave in. They were beyond thrilled, to say the least!
I saw this idea on someone else's blog and thought I'd steal it. No, borrow. Stealing would be wrong. They introduced their family one member at a time. So I shall do the same. Beginning with the youngest. She was born October 9, 2011 and offered for sale along with her sibblings. I met her at Petco where her then-owner agreed to meet with me so I could become aquainted and make a decision whether to bring her home or not. Once home, I put her in a cage and draped a tablecloth on top to hide her. The girls got home and we surprised them with their biggest Christmas gift, given a few weeks early. And then it was time to decide on a name. "Gracie" was finally chosen. My eldest explained..."God gave us GRACE at Christmas by giving us Jesus for our salvation, and you showed us GRACE by allowing us to have a puppy." So I introduce to you 4-month-old Gracie, newest member of our family. She loves to chew, sees the toddler as a peer, pees when nervous, eats like there's no tomorrow, heads straight for the kennel when she sees us getting ready to leave the house, barks at birds, has learned to "sit" "come" and "stay", and badly needs a haircut as she's 80% hair, 20% puppy. Here's a picture last Christmas:
