Food
How many times am I supposed to say "eat your dinner!"? Sigh. If there's anything I get tired of saying, that's it. Now I realize I just bragged about how wonderful my girls are, but when it comes to eating, they are no fans of food. Unless I'm serving the fail-safe spaghetti or an IHOP at home dinner, or a Honduran dinner. Otherwise it's almost always a battle. Who's winning? That's the question. I think it's a draw. I remember the lovely days when Bella, at only 12 months old, would eat her entire huge flour tortilla w/ beans and sour cream in it (called a "baleada") and then eat the rest of Rebekah's as well, way before any of us even noticed! But those days are long gone. Now she's a slow poke of an eater. What to do, what to do. When will my girls acquire a love for food like I have? Do you not just love food?! Food is wonderful. The smell of it, the sound of it cooking, watching other people make it and talk about it, gazing at it as you walk by it, flipping through pages of recipe books and magazines...ahhhh, food.

I'm sorry, I'd love to comment now, but I'm too busy devouring this wonderfully hot, fresh-from the oven, covered-with frosting, fudge brownie.
My little girl is the same way. Unless it's fit for a rabbit to eat, she wants nothing to do with it most of the time. I figure, even a little bit is better then nothing though and she somehow manages to get enough food to stay healthy and gain weight (although, I do hope to get her actually on the growth chart one of these days).
we do the Love and Logic thing in our house. You're not hungry/don't like your food? No problem. you can eat again in the morning. :) Happens a lot for me w/Gideon. He won't eat, & then ten minutes after dinner is through, he'll say he's hungry. so sorry. I worked hard to make dinner, & I'm too tired to cook any more tonight. I'll be happy to make you some breakfast in the morning after I've rested. :) I also make it a point not to have any snacks for a couple hours before dinner. That helps. if they're hungry enough, they'll eat. And if not, they can eat again in the morning. :)
Yeah, I totally agree w/ that, Kari. I have done that too. At the moment I don't have much freedom in that area...we've been staying at my parents' house...and you know how grandparents can be...sighhhhh...
