Last Saturday night we went out to celebrate our eighth anniversary. Thanks to my mom for coming to babysit for free, and for a generous gift to enjoy a nice dinner! Wow. We went to the Lloyd Center mall (huge, with ice rink, etc.) but first went to have dinner at a place called Stanford's. Amazing food. Even more amazing service. He ordered baby backs, of course, with a side of incredible grilled asparagus. I didn't know I liked asparagus so much - sure wish mine would turn out as nice! I had fettuccine with chicken, peppers and asparagus - holy moly it was so good! Then we went to the mall and walked with leisure. Hubby was so good to humor me by perusing the aisles of throw pillows at Ross, even helping me pick some out (who are you and what have you done with my husband?! - I thought). It was a lovely, argue-free evening. I can't wait until our next date, whenever that may be (tho on a smaller scale, of course). We do see plenty of each other, unlike most couples, but it's rare that we enjoy special time together where we're not stressed and having to discuss something serious and/or unpleasant. So it was lovely.
