End Times...

A couple weeks ago my husband was talking about the global food crisis. I didn't really listen, and thought that he might have been misinformed. (Because somehow since he reads and listens to more news than I do, I should still know more than he does, right?!) So earlier this week I go to the grocery store. I go to the bulk bins to get some rice. All the different varieties were all gone...so I thought "Hm. Odd! They haven't stocked their bins this morning! I'll try back another day." And another day I went to another location...and wow! No rice! Not of any kind! So then it occurs to me that maybe there's a global food crisis. Rice is a staple in our house, so I must have rice! I was on a mission today to find some! I went up to Costco...nope! All out! And finally back to Walmart...yes, they had some. So I grabbed some, but not much since buying little one-pound bags kind of annoys me. When I get home, I call the other Costco location and they expect a shipment tomorrow, so I re-think my plans for the next day to be sure to go and get some. And as I tell my wise and knowledgeable husband of my mission and its obstacles, he says to me "I don't really like rice that much anyway."

One of my favorite childhood memories is when we were at Bagabag and ate rice three times a day. Heaven!
