This is a warning to anyone thinking of booking any trips through Travelocity.com. I haven't had troubles with them in the past, but WOW the troubles of the last ten days so outweigh any troubles I've had with any company, anywhere, for all of time! All I was trying to do was first check prices for two trips, and when I saw a good fare I tried to book those two trips with dates that would work. Doesn't sound too complicated, does it? But HOLY MOLY has it ever been a big mess with Travelocity! I have spent a total of approximately ten hours on the phone both with them and with airlines and credit cards. What happened was, to try to sum up, they charged me for one trip but booked me for the other. So one trip was unpaid but reserved, and the other trip was paid for but nonexistent. The customer service agents in Bombay, India, were so, so confused. Terribly confused. I had to fight and explain and show proof, many, many times. And I thought that finally, at 11:21 p.m. on May 12, after a 92 minute phone call (45 minutes of which I was on hold without having any voice contact with the agent in Bombay) the issue had been resolved: two trips, reserved, confirmed, paid for. Ummmm...nope. After several more phone calls, Tylenols, coffee, and arguing (as kind as I possibly could) with Travelocity, I thought again that maybe this time it had finally been resolved (8:40p.m. May 14). Ahem. Negative. I see that still today, 8 days later, my credit card has not been charged for Trip B. I call the airlines, who says I am good to go, and the credit card, who says there's no charge from the airlines. Sigh. I find that the problem lies with....drumroll...Travelocity.
I hate to take up one whole blog post to gripe and complain and sort-of rant and rave...I'd like to try to stay positive! :) So forgive me for that. I do want to warn my dear friends and readers to avoid Travelocity if possible. One airlines told me that they would have given me the same fare, but without the $21 Travelocity service fee. Travelers beware! :)
And that's all I have to say about that.
