So this Saturday there's a ladies' activity at our church (it's a kind of refresh/spa day - theme being God's love for you...also it's an outreach). I've helped a little bit on the planning committee and happily volunteered to assemble the 80+ gift bags for each attendee. Yesterday morning I was narrowing down which verse to print on the tag that goes on these bags, and as I was unable to reach any of the other committee ladies by phone, I had to make an executive decision. Yikes! I said a quick prayer and went with it. This is the verse I chose:
"...He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love..." Zeph.3:17
So I printed them off and that night a friend helped me with the ominous task of assembling and tying over 80 bows, etc. The next day the lady in charge of it all calls me and I tell her how I was unable to reach her for an "okay" on the verse I chose for the gift bags. I tell her which verse it is. And she breaks out in a crying laughter. Turns out that just a couple of days before, she "spontaneously" chose to print the very same verse on the back of the event booklets that each person will receive!
Only God, folks, only God.
P.S. Also turns out I was asked to share a devotional for this event...please pray for me! Pray that God will speak through me and that I would get over the urge to hide in the back row with a paper bag over my head! "He must become greater, I must become less..." Jn3:30

what a cool thing! i love it when stuff like that happens! it's neat when we get to see those fun "friend thing" things that God does for us...little surprises, so obviously in front of our eyes and so obviously His dong...for those that will see it that way, anyway...
