So it started at 4:00 a.m. Isabella was fussing for no apparent reason. So I drag myself out of bed, go see that nothing's the matter, tell her to go back to sleep, and go back to bed. That happened about five more times, one of which included a potty break, another included more water in the sippy cup, another included a strict scolding. Finally at 5:30 a.m. I dosed her up with some cold medicine to help clear her nose and help her sleep. I think I fell asleep again at about 6am. Mind you, I'm under the weather with a sore throat myself. Then at 7 am I hear Rebekah, calling her younger sister in a very, very annoyed tone, and repeatedly. "Bell-A! BELL-a! Would you get me my kitten?! BELLA!" I endured about 10 minutes of it, as the annoyance levels rose on my end and on Rebekah's end. I go in to see that despite the shouting, Isabella is fast asleep. Probably had something to do with being awake almost 2 hours in the darkness of the morning. Or it couldve been the cold medicine. Or a combination. So with a forceful whisper I scold Rebekah, informing her that Isabella has not been responding as she is ASLEEP FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. Well, with that, of course, Isabella wakes up. As all hope of recuperating any sleep is lost, I drag myself in my warm comfy fleece robe to the kitchen to get my morning coffee. I sit down to console myself with Good Morning America. And I spill my hot coffee all over my warm comfy fleece robe and the couch. Promptly Isabella comes crying to me, hot red marks on her cheek...Rebekah's evil twin (who has seemingly taken angel Rebekah's place this morning) had pinched her. Sigh. So another spanking is dealt, and the washing machine now has custody of my warm comfy fleece robe and the slipcover off the couch and a gray hair appears on my head. Is it tomorrow yet?

"and a gray hair appears on my head"...that has got to be one of the best descriptions and sum-ups of one of those kinds of days i've ever heard.
i'm so sorry your day was like that, but you retold it really well. :)
the washing machine has custody of your comfy robe... :(
i have had one of those months. EVERYONE in our family has been sick with either a stomach bug (which is disguisting on all levels), sinus infections, or (now) walking pneumonia (Nicholas caught it from somewhere...i'm assuming the church nursery b/c there's an epidemic of it going around rockwall right now). anyway, IT IS AWFUL NOT TO SLEEP, I'M SO SORRY!!!! especially being the mommy who has to take care of everyone when YOU'RE feeling crummy! i hope you (and everyone else) sleeps well tonight! maybe the girls will be tired from being up early today and will sleep later tomorrow. maybe??? here's hoping!
OH, thank you, sweet Heather. It's comforting to have someone sympathetic to the situation! Our sick house isn't nearly as bad as yours has been - and I do feel so bad for what you've been going through! I did have fun writing about it and it will be funny tomorrow or next week or whenever my throat doesn't hurt to laugh!
aaaw. poor you! we *so* need a girls' night out! :)
