Substitute Food Coloring

I forgot to mention yet another mishap. It was like 10pm and I was madly making another batch of icing to go on cookies. I open the cupboard to get out the food coloring and....I forgot I didn't have any! Why would I? It's something you buy once every few years and you just always assume you have some! But I haven't bought any yet and it just never made its way to any of my weekly shopping lists! So I searched my cupboards and grabbed some jello! Ha! I think I read about it somewhere. So the cookie recipients may just be a bit puzzled at the raspberry or orange flavored icing.
